    Many thanks. Yes the 18ft cutter is tiny. I have stood it in the corner of the case with my Alert and it is smaller than the name plaque I had made up for the display!

    Thanks Thukydides - they stands are pieces of an acrylic rod I bought on eBay. It is a 16mm diameter rod and I simply cut pieces to size and then cut a slot for the keel of each boat and slightly shaped the profile of the hull in with a small chisel. You can get all different diameter sizes to suit your preference

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
