    Bought mine yesterday ( £29.99) with 6 abrasive Velcro type pads in 3 grades at Lidl, Wincanton, Somerset. UK. They seem to be going fast. Of late there has been lots of good value goodies for sale. A couple of weeks ago i bought a Scrollsaw which was a rebadged Sheppach to their own brand of Parkside. It had variable speed and foot control all for £69 sterling. A saving of about £50 to £60 Good hunting, Mike

    First post. I totally agree with shipman. Boxwood rules are great and do not forget the 'lead dressers tools'. These used to be fair sized lumps of boxwood. I also suggest that the old spools and reels from woolen and cotton mills (if you can find them!)

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
