    Thank you RobMann, the cap rails were stained heavily (several coats) with Minwax fruitwood stain and appeared as a good match on top of the black broadsides.  You can reference the details in my build log “Yacht America”, post #19. The cabin trim rails I have to confess could have been done better with a mahogany colored stain instead of the fruitwood color. After I sealed the deck furniture with clear flat it made the color imbalance obvious but “close enough”.I live and learn from my mistakes. Nonetheless I’m very satisfied with my  build overall.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955.
