  1. Hi! I'm really sorry that I haven't posted anything here in a long time. It's both because I haven't remembered to, as I'm not used to keeping a blog while I work, but also because due to family reasons I haven't built anything for a year. Now I'm back in the hobby room, and after completing some small projects, I'm now working on Soleil Royal again. I've learned the importance of being precise and planning well from the start. This now shows that millimeters can have ripple effects throughout the building. But I'm made in such a way that for me the most important thing is not that the ship should look like the original, but that it will be a nice ship on the shelf, so a little artistic approach must be allowed😊 I'll update with some pictures, but maybe not so much text on this project. I want to make a blog on my next project (Prinz Eugen) as I can't find much of that online. I'm going to hang a big note in front of me where it will say: "Remember to post on the blog" 😊😝
  2. I would like to have some light in the windows at the back of the boat, but am struggling a bit to find a good solution. I am considering putting LED strips in the boat as I also get some light in the gun hatches. But there must not be bright light. Does anyone have any good ideas?
  3. VID_20240304_175645.mp4 Can first post pictures of a jig that I made myself. I work with assembly and service of aids (wheelchairs ++++) and we have a lot of oddities in our warehouse. Some time ago we had a bedside table that was just to be thrown away. It had some features that I quickly saw could be useful in terms of boat building. I removed the tabletop itself (which was broken) and mounted it on a narrower piece of wood. This is a nice tool where you can turn and turn around a horizontal axis, as well as height adjustment. Only imagination and creativity set limits.
  4. First I want to say that the text that is posted here has been run through Google Translate, so it is possible that there will be some mistakes, but you have to be patient😏 I am a 45-year-old man from Norway. I have a partner and have two daughters❤️. I have worked a lot with plastic construction kits, but in recent years have switched to wooden boats and wooden models, which I really like. I am an amateur and learn every single day. Working with model ships is my therapy. I really relax when I have projects like this, while at the same time I have an inner stress that chases after completion. My latest project, Soleil Royal, is a test of taking it easy, of taking time. There will probably be some pictures, videos and a log in the future on it if I figure out how to create a build log.... Anyone?
  5. Is there a place I can order the front (as the pictures) an the back deck. I do something wrong with this kit and "destroy" this to decks....
