    I too have purchased a "Dusseldorf" after debating for about 5 years and missed out on Futaba's F14 series. As far as geared motors are concerned I've found mini geared motors on eBay. They range from 3V, 6V, 9V, and 12 Volts DC. The RPM range is from 10 RPM to 2000 RPM. Cost varies from $2.79 ea. to over $11.00 ea. Some dealers reduce the price for more quantity's of same RPM only plus shipping. Hope this out for those wanting small geared motors. Jimmy

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
