  1. I am all in on multi-tech work. I have a couple filament printers and resin printers seem to be getting close to perfect [but messy]. I'm in the Keys for a couple more weeks, then back to my larger tools in Mn.
  2. There is a gent in UK by the name of Russ who does videos on Youtube on [mostly] CO2 [read Chicom] lasers. Very smart and helpful. Sarbarmultmedia He has all the info and knowledge you need.
  3. I am thinking of the plans for the Winchelsea and a half hull, unplanked as a starter project- I am quite accomplished with the laser [I have two].
  4. I am a new recruit who has been around the block a couple times. I have been using Chicom lasers for 7-8 years and have a computer background starting in 1965 [told ya I been around] and am proficient with 2D programs and 3D designing in Fusion 360 and CNC work in Aspire. I love working from and developing my own plans and build CW cannons and mounts and caissons. I have been lucky and build whatever pleases me and give the products and plans away to anyone who will use them. I guess I am amazed that there seems low interest in lasers... they are amazing tools and inexpensive for the many things they do well- admittedly there are many things they cannot do too. Gene This hub was printed with PETG filament- I also use pla/wood filament which an be stained. The wheel is 6" as well as the larger chair.
  5. Thank you Sirs. I am not sure how I can/will fit in here but time will tell. I once spent 5k hours building a new/modified '66 Corv convert from a new frame up... and had it burn a few months later in a garage fire- purposely set. I rebuilt it from the drivetrain, but only spent 3k hours... I am a slow learner, but I do learn. I have been building Civil war 6pdr field cannon wheels/carriages with the laser for fellows, spokes, tires and 3d printed wood hubs. Not sure I am up for huge projects at this time of life- have always loved the half hull will mountings...?
  6. I am 75yo and have always marveled at the artistry of a well built model, ship or otherwise. I have restored second Gen Corvettes till I was 50, then started a a sign shop with my daughter till I sold to a very bright employee a couple years ago [my daughter was not interested in working that hard]. I still consult the new owner who rents buildings from me and I rent space for all my tools and falderal. My new pact with myself is to do whatever I do as well as I am able... to make amends for all the years I could not afford the time to do more than 'make it work'. I spend the coldest months in the Keys and have many hours admiring the work on your forum. I have lived and breathed CO2 lasers for close to a decade an see many applications possible. Gene
