Glen, it is, quite simply, amazing. If there’s anything that rivals the quality of the build, it’s your selflessness in agreeing to help a stranger finish a project that his father started. I can never thank you enough (but I hope those bottles of rum are a good start!). Carson

Glen, the build looks great! I’ve read every post, and this is nothing short of amazing. The Mai Tai—a great drink, for a celebration well-earned. For Glen’s followers and fans, I’ll happily take some rum recommendations to help keep his bar well-supplied. My personal favorites: Diplomatico and Pampero Anniversario (there’s a nostalgia factor for me with that one). - Carson

Glad to see some new followers for Glen, who is graciously finishing this model for my family. But, he is being overly modest. While he may be grinding his way through (seemingly impossibly complicated) rigging, his repair work was certainly more than “a bit.” The in-process model had been dropped, damaging the bowsprit and other areas of the ship. Repairing and completing the model was well beyond my skillset to complete, and Glen is, quite simply, a godsend. I’m glad more people are following him!

The aluminum micro-mesh, $2.95 from G&G Model Shop, brings back memories. G&G was my dad’s neighborhood model shop in Houston that he walked to as a kid, and took me and my brother to when we visited my grandparents decades later. All, just wanted to drop everyone a line to say that I am following the build log. Though, frankly, I wasn’t expecting quite this level of action out of the gate! My father unexpectedly passed away late last year. He was working on a Model Shipways wood model of the USS Constitution, maybe 70-80% complete (photos below). Complications from his condition led to him accidentally dropping it, damaging the prow. So, the model (in Dallas, Texas) needs some repair in addition to overall completion. I don’t have the ability to take on this repair/completion project, but was hoping to find someone who might be willing to do so. The project, as you might imagine, is a sentimental one. I’d like to see the model completed in his memory. Any leads would be much appreciated, and I’m happy to visit to offer more information, discuss, etc. Thanks for your time.
