    Thank you all for your responses. The one I have looks almost identical to the top picture ccoyle has in his explanation, except mine has four masts. I figured it was a mass produced one, just wanted more info to make a decision on its future. Do any of you know of a school, or class that could use a fairly damaged ship to practice/learn restoring it. I would be happy to donate it rather than just get rid of it. I live in Indiana, so the closer the better, but would be willing to help with some shipping costs if too far to deliver. Thank you again for your responses.

    My father was gifted a model ship sometime in the early 70's by my uncle who was serving in Germany. I am unable to ask either of them about the ship. I was wondering if anyone here might be able to help. Once I know where to to post the information, I have taken several pictures. Thanks

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
