    I am at the thwarts stage and have a question, the instructions say to use 1/8" wide strips for 7 of them and 3/16" for the mast one.but on the plans view i measured them at just under 3/16", and the one with the mast is 9/32" What should I go by?

    Hi, I am new to shipbuilding, I've purchased the model shipways 18th century long boat before trying something more advanced. I've barely started the kit and have already run into a problem. The false keel and bulkheads both have notches that are supposed to fit into each other but the notches are too small. Should I increase the size of the notches (possibly introducing errors to bulkhead alignment later on) or should i sand the false keel and bulkheads to a thinner width? thanks
