    Tim, Thanks for your build log. I just started my pinky build and appreciate your head start. Back in Feb. you were asked about cutting the rabbit after the keel, etc. was glued on. I too followed the directions and it came out fine (that's all I've done so far), but all through the process I thought it would have been easier and cleaner to cut the rabbit before gluing on the other pieces. The slot is basically a taper on the center frame that abuts the keel,etc. easier to cut the taper without the keel, stem, and skew. Since I didn't do that I can't tell you which method is better. I took Glad Tidings on as a summer project after working on a Syren build all winter. It clearly will not be done this summer! Jim

    I think you are making this too complicated. All these positions and concerns about details are true, but that is why the ratings will be averages. Why not just list the important kit attributes in a column, then show the ratings (1 to 5) on each attribute plus overall. The forum could report either the averages or show the spread. The other alternative is to just give 1 to 5 ratings for each kit by rater like e-tailers do on websites.

    Charlie, Your pictures look great. I am about in the same stage you are (or at least your posts are). Some questions: my framing toward the stern is not even. I was following the line of the bulkheads but the port side frames tend to tilt toward the center of the boat. The starboard looks like yours. I am not sure what to do about this without tearing out the framing and bulkhead "horns". I'm not happy about that option either. Suggestions? Also, I have not filled in under the stern counter, just installed the wood pieces as directed in Chuck's manual. Is the fill in necessary? I am having a little problem visualizing how this will come into play during planking. Jim
