I am working on Corels HMS Victory which has pressed moldings in the kit. The moldings are nothing more then wood filler molded forms. I have the hull already done and did not plan on painting this model. I wanted the beauty of the walnut to speak for itself. My problem is that these molds will not take stain right and I don't have the tools to create these molded parts out of real wood. I am trying to figure out a way to make this happen without painting or using real wood. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

the picture of the plans was to show that they didn't show me anything underneath the stern counter (I didn't know the name of that piece untill today)

I like both of those. I'll give it a shot and see what happens. Thank you.

This will be my first attempt in planking a hull the right way. My frame pieces are already glued on and I have the bottom of the keel in a jig. My problem is the top of the keel is still warped and I'm not sure of how I should correct it without putting on some planks. That seems like the most difficult solution. Is there an easier way then making a complicated jig for the top of the keel?

I appreciate the offer but there are around 50 of this type of part. After thinking about this for a while, I think the best way to go about this is to just find a paint that can match the color of walnut.
