Standing rigging color preference and historical musings

I seem to remember that we had a discussion about the scaling of colours in MSW 1.0

The scale effect on colours is very much discussed among our model railroading and plastic modeling friends. The smaller the scale , the lighter the colours should be to look authentic:

1/32 scale add 7% white to the paint

1/48 add 10%

1/72 add 15%

1/144 add 23%

I'll definitely be looking for the grey and hemp hues when I get to that point.
