david reed Posted November 10, 2013 #1 Posted November 10, 2013 The Mamoli Santa Maria ship model kit contains two metal castings that are to be placed on the ship sides in the rear near the upper deck. These casting are flat. However, the area where they are to be glued to the ship is slightly concave. To have these castings sit flat against the ship's sides will require that they be warped to fit - see photo. How can these castings be slightly warped without cracking?
jud Posted November 10, 2013 #2 Posted November 10, 2013 Depends on what type of metal is used in the casting. Can you sand the back of the casting for a better fit? Is there a sprue that you can use for a test? jud
