Emily Taylor

"Emily Taylor"

A 14 gun Brig of War built in 1793 in Bombay for the British East India Company and originally named "Antelope", she was 77' of 199 ton with a beam of 26ft and draft of 4ft 6"

Purchased by Robert Taylor & Co she was renamed after his wife. She was the ship that carried the first settlers from Fremantle to this town of Augusta in the south west of Western Australia in 1830 and later in the same year was blown ashore and wrecked in Cockburn Sound just south of Fremantle.

The model is of a scale of 1:32 and completed this week after 3 years. It will be gifted to the Augusta Museum to form part of the town's history.
