Cala Esmeralda 1:58 - OcCre

I built my first wooden ship model when I was about 10 years old and subsequently took a break from the hobby for almost 60 years. “Cala Esmeralda” is my first build since then.

I built the model according to the plans for the schooner “Santa Eulàlia” in the Maritime Museum of Barcelona, i.e. without the square sails on the foremast that you can see in the OcCre kit.

Beautiful work! It was a visit to the Maritime Museum in Barcelona, including the Santa Eulalia, that got me interested model ships. Did you just change the rigging to match the Santa Eulalia, or the deck arrangements/furnishings as well?

Thank you very much! Yes, I just changed the rigging in accordance with the plans for Santa Eulàlia. If you compare the plans for the two ships, they are practically the same.
