foxy got a reaction from Dimitris71 in HMS Victory by foxy - Heller - 1/100 - PLASTIC - with Dafi's etch & resin set
Cheers Keith.
Well you know all that furniture I made, well now have added some to the Admirals day room.
Just some items for the table, like sexton/maps and such.
Maybe a picture of Lady Hamilton on the wall and lights plus curtains.
Go's on and on don't it.

Another update. This time on the hammocks, I used the Heller one's for this, lucky I had two sets, the one's that come with the kit are to thin so decided to double up.
Sanded down one side of each same length.
Glued under pressure.
Once dry added plastic filler to the top surface.
Sprayed from a can a plastic primer and left to dry.
Then sprayed when dry a mix of buff and white(Humbrol)
Bit o weathering later, job done.

Cheers OC.
Well pretty much finished are the boats.
34 Ft barge, largest.
18 Ft Cutter being the smallest.
Started on the oars but short of 1x1 square plastic, 'on order'.
But made a start.

Got some paint on, with a sprayed wood effect to start with.
The grey on the 18 Ft Cutter is primer.
Four out of five started.

Some more to the other boats needed.
First the 34Ft Barge.
Added some more detail to the boat.
Added tape to the hull for planking.
Again the 32Ft Barge.
Next is the 28Ft Pinnace.
So as not to bore you I have advanced somewhat with this one.
Next is the little 18FT cutter, for this one I used a 150 Connie boat, this entailed having to cut in half.
Again I added tape to the hull for planking.
Last is one of the 25Ft Cutters.
This when built will be hanging from a davit.
Used a 1/96 Connie boat for this.
Added some extra keel plus ribbing.
Once up to scratch will be using these paints after a Tamiya primer that coats brass as well as plastic.
More soon.

Well managed to sort out the problem, seems PB have changed the setup.
Started on the boats for this ship.
Using some from Heller and some from other sources.
First the 34 Ft Barge, this has been extended from the Connie ship, have a resin one to take over from this.
Ribbed out.
Added side supports for the bench's plus Dafis PE grating.
Maple wood for the base boards.
A coat of primer.
Next its the 32Ft Barge, this using the Heller boat.
Same principle As other barge with ribbing and supports for bench's.

Cheers Keith, just what I am doing.
But still manage to take a peek at this build and do some small things to it.
Marked out the lines for the planking after removing most detail to make again later.
But since then Had some more info on what the spacing for planking and layout should be.
Thanks to Daniel for helping before I started laying the planks.
But did manage to lay a couple of carpets.
More soon me thinks.

I see you have all sorted izzy.
Well all the eyelets are fitted ready to install guns.
Will be removing the cannon balls and replacing with better one's.
Just some sanding of the apertures then paint.
Also started on the bow end
Clamped till dry.
Test fitted to make sure all seats right.
Beginning to look like a ship now.

Well its back to the guns we are.
This time to add flintlocks using Dafi's etch parts.
Now some have the flintlock and some a cover for this.
Made from plastic exhaust pipes cut in half and a bit of plastic.
Here shows both types, used thin thread to hold covers and did about half and half of long and short 12 Pounders.
Should show a bit of interest.

Cheers Keith mate.
Well after all the prep I find more to do, this time I needed to drill holes for gun eyelets.
Luckly I sore how Daniel had done his, so push fitted a wood dowl into a hand drill.
Did both sides.
Job done!!!!.

Yep was a tedious job Daniel, but got there.
Another tedious job was the ropes for the guns, added etch eyelets to one end.
Would you believe there are 40 here done.
Guns strung with rope and coming on nicely, still to add block and tackle to each gun.
Most of these made up.

Well its the quarter decks turn and had a lot of thought on what I was going to do to this, having to alter the main mast opening by half a mm, planking this deck with 2 mm wood strips, I decided to removed all raised detail and plank, then use evergreen to make new hatch's etc.
The way it is at the moment.
Sanding down with a sanding block.
The decks all cleared ready for planking.

Also went to a local exhibition and pictured the sea pearl under construction among other things.

Moved on a bit with the window decoration inside the stern.
This will sit on the seat at the stern.
Finished the partitions and the picture does not do it justice.
More soon Frank

Well moved on and finished panels to the sides, now working on the inside panels.
Bit like a jigsaw puzzle.
Once all done can fit together.
Also started the rear window display, first the back bench that runs along windows.
Shown in a diff light.
Surprising how the light makes it look.
The beams etc will all be this colour with brass decoration. red curtains.
Frank.

Still onto the Admirals quarters with the panelling in sleeping, dining and day room.
Making the panels from plastic card and wood.
Two layers to get panel effect.
Hats off on this deck.
Will paint light green and brass decoration.
Made up two of the three sections, with the dinning to do.

foxy got a reaction from popeye the sailor in HMS Victory by foxy - Heller - 1/100 - PLASTIC - with Dafi's etch & resin set
Well been at it again, this time finished the wood inside and now working on the Admirals quarters.
Most know the layout for this end on the Victory.
But will be panelling the sides and paint very light green.
For the stern I will be panelling mahogany and a seat the length of the stern windows.
One important point is if your detailing the interior then leave off doing the gun hatch's till later.
The damage is superficial and can be sorted later.
Also adding carpets to the floor, that black and white pattern is very bad on the eye's!!!!!.
Next its the hanging kness of which I need 64 for the upper/forecastle and more for the Captains quarters.
Done 88 so far.

Thanks Keith shipmate.
Yep she is moving along nicely now.
Have noticed however from the real ship that the belaying pins might be a tad short.
But can live with that.
Although I believe the ones shown in the picture are from a merchant sailing ship.
Here's the tackle for the 12 Pdr guns and how they need to look.
I think hemp rope will do the trick for these.
One more picture to capture the ships wheel(done),the Binnacle(done)and the red boxes strewn about the decks.
Plus must make up some lamps to hang from the rafters.
The fire extinguisher is a modern addition.

:Moved on a touch more with the 12 Pdr cannon.
Added most items to these, there are 40 12 Pdr long and short for the upper/quarter decks.
Next job was to add dafis trunnion caps, these have to be folded, so used a primitive jig for this.
Finished the Anchors.
Plus finished one side of the inner hull with wood.
Next it will be the hanging Knees.
Looking for some red boxes that adorn the ship and found some old AirFix ones.
Plus some Cannon ball clusters.
Then added the rest of Dafis etch King George motives.
A handy little tray for keeping all them titchy parts.

Cheers David.
Some more work on the Brace & Sheet bits.
Found they were way to large and should be more in keeping with the pin rails.
So removed the Heller plastic and replaced with evergreen.
Also some of the paints I am using , all water based.
More soon.

Added brass belaying pins as they will be used later.
Just waiting on a few more which arrived today.

Following on from yesterday, today I finished the plastic strip on the hull, next when dry will ad the wood strip.
Also started the Admirals quarters.
Then it was a test of the bowsprit, this needed no assistance to stand on its own with out fixing.
All though I had weights in case.
Next it was Dafis resin Anchors there are six for this ship and have primed ready to spray black when all dry.
Cheers Frank

On again with the thickening the upper deck sides.
Will add strips of plastic, then wood strips, this should give the correct thickness to the hull sides and allow the eyelets to grip for securing the guns.
Also testing out the boom on the mizzen mast.
Plus the making sure the masts sit right.
