    Dear Rowand I have just joined this sight as I am returning to static ship building after 5 years building working kits. The model you are building was my very 1st build some 25 years ago. I was inspired to build this model after looking over the Australian replica at the maritime museum in Sydney while over there on holiday. It took me 5 years to complete the model and attached are 2 photos of my completed model. It is not possible to rig the model from the plan and I had to purchase a book called " How to Rig an English Frigate" and even then it took 12 months to rig. You are making great progress and enjoy the journey. kind regards Peterchristopher

If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
