    Beautiful work Pete. love the boats you are making. May I please ask how you printed the plans? Ie did you print them a4 and enlarge the or do them on a bigger paper to start with, and if so what? Thanks

    Thanks for that information. I think I might start building a Volvo 70 then! planning on making it a bit larger than yours - probably around 1m, just because of where it would be sailed. Is there any advice you could give me regarding any potential difficulties? Thanks

    Hi Being following your build and just wanted to say you are making a beautiful job. Very inspiring! I love the detail you are putting in her. I was just wondering, do you have any concerns regarding the flatness ie lack of rocker in her? I was thinking of trying to build a rc one, but was just wondering whether their sections are a bit flat and need more depth so they won't submarine too much. Also, what was easier? The Volvo 70 or this one? Am only a beginner but have made a couple of models so planking is no probs Thanks

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
