  1. Great Job on building the Bluejacket LV 112 kit. One thing that is not correct, not your fault, is the Foghorn. The 112-has a single vertical Foghorn mounted on the Foghorn deckhouse. The kit supplies a single four horn unit which is incorrect. I believe this was brought to their attention about 15 years ago when the USLM NANTUCKET-LV112 commissioned Bluejacket to build one for us. You probably know the NANTUCKET Lightship in New Bedford , actually two are really no comparison to the 112. The WLV 612 along with the WLV 613 ( Tripod Style mast) are both privately owned. The Last two to serve on Nantucket Station. They are 2 of 6 Sisters built for the USCG 1946-1952. All are 128’ in length. Whereas the 112 built in 1936 was the Largest Lightship built for the USLHS at 148’10”. IMG_5002.mov IMG_9129.mov IMG_2985.mov
  2. Great job. The hull is one of six lightships built for the USCG from 1946-1952. The 189, 196, 604, 605, 612 and 613. basically Sister ships. Each had different propulsion. The 613 differed due to it tripod style mast similar to lightships of the U.K. During research I believe on the LS 189 had a Fog Bell on deck where as the other five did not. LS 189 DIAMOND . LS 196 UMATILLA, WLV 612 on left,WLV 613 on right. WLV 612 , NANTUCKET , WLV 612 SAN FRANCISCO, WLV 612 PORTLAND, WLV 613 NANTUCKET
