    I thought this might be the case on the prototype ship but the model boom is pretty light compared to the sail.

    I'm building Model Shipways Bluenose II kit. I do not find how the main boom is held down at the end supported on the main mast. seems to me there must be something to stretch the attached sail down. The first two masted schooner that I have built. Thanks for help C Marsh

    I'm building the Model Shipways Bluenose kit 2130 and am confused with the transom framing detail. Detail 2-F on sheet 2 is confusing to me. Anyone know where I might get a picture of the completed transom?

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
