The stern decoration was customized. I felt that the Madonna and child icon was Spanish in style not French, so a new scheme of decorating the stern to reflect the ship's namesake "The Crown" was created. The angles, crown, and coat of arms were found on Etsy! The wreath was retained from the kit, and reshaped to fit around the coat of arms. No one knows what was on the stern decoration, although the French and some model companies have set a common trend from their own imaginings in model kits. No ship's name is displayed on the stern because that was not typically done under the late 18th century.

Look at the simulated moonlight photo. It turned out well for an amateur like me. My cats found the ship's light switch under the display case and occasionally turn it on at night! 🤣

The lights actually flicker slightly like lamp flames. This was done using a random number generator for the voltage using an Arduino Uno card hidden inside the sterncastle. Six circuits of lighting flicker at different frequencies so all the lights don't flicker flicker the same way. Use yellow nano sized LED's from Evan's Designs.
