Can anyone give recommendations on purchasing soldering irons?

  I am starting to build a model of the USS Constitution and the directions state that a soldering iron will be needed.  thanks much.

I am completing my build out of the Jotika model-HM Brig Badger, and am looking for information on where I might  purchase a British Navy Battle Ensign for it.  Also any thoughts on where I might get a reasonably priced base for it.  Thanks.

Are there any small tools out there that can help in threading small deadeyes? I have been waxing the thread and patiently trying to thread the holes in the deadeyes, but i am wondering if there is a tool that might help in this tasdk.

I have been working on building the HM Brig Badger by Caldercraft for sometime now and was looking back at the helpful a number of you made last year prior to my purchase of the kit.

One comment was to delay putting in the cannons until "later."   I would greatly appreciate any specific thoughts folks have on when "later" should be.  Thanks  much

Thank you very much for that idea. I think it might be very helpful as I proceed.  While I don't have  syringes, I do have several plastic squeeze bottles with small tip openings that might also  work.

I have just started working on building the HM Badger, and i was hoping that you can help me with a  questions.  Am I correct  that the Gunport  Pattern  Former gets removed after the the Gunport Patterns are fitted to the bulkheads?    While this may be obvious --from your and other the pictures of the build out as well as  the  placing of the Upper Gundeck -- I didn't see removing the Former in the instructions.  Any information you can provide me on this would be most appreciated.  Thanks much.

I am starting to build the Caldercraft HM Brig Badger, and would  appreciate any suggestions on how to follow the instructions to taper the keel from 5 mm at the fore end of the bearding line to 3 mm at the stern, taking off equal amounts of material from both sides. How precise does this have to be at the stern and going forward to the fore end of the bearding line?

I am considering purchasing this kit and wanted to know whether those who have built this model would recommend it-- or other models by this vendor.  Thanks for any comments on this model. 

I have been working on the Blue Jacket Revenue Cutter and earlier comments from folks have been very helpful.  I am now up to the rigging  work.  Does anyone have pictures of a completed model with all the rigging work done? Thanks much.
