“Weathering” was not my goal, keeping things clean enough to apply stain and poly only was. Basswood has varying effects on the stain. The seats are are Mahogany as are the seat risers and rail.

Thanks... That’s what I was going for. It’s all about the rigging and how they sailed these massive ships. Learned a lot building it this way. Although at times I thought, what did I get myself into?

Bluejacket Shipcrafters here in Maine.

This model was a Laughing Whale model kit, which was bought by Bluejacket. I actually bought Bluejacket instructions to complete the kit. Excellent instructions and Bluejacket supplies support for the modeler.
The battens were glued and the tied on to look authentic.
