Continue with the sails.

Lower shrouds complete.

Some of the pictures I took on board as reference for my build. I spent two years going on board to complete this build.

Used plans purchased from the maritime museum. I spent hours on board taking pictures and measurements for the build.

I have been building kit models for many years so I have lots of loose wood and materials to use.

Working on deck furniture.

I needed to simulate the iron hull texture. I experimented with several methods and found the mixing fine silica with white glue and applied to the hull seemed to work well. I the painted the hull after it dried.

I used scratch on lettering on the hull.

This being a more modern ship I never had to build deadeyes inside the rails.

Built this model while living in San Diego. This is my first attempt at a scratch build.
