    I'm currently at 181 hours on the bench work.

    Set pedestals and attached to stand. Decided to use three pedestal because of the length of the hull.

    Painted the hull flat black and set the top and side rails.

    To match the paint colors on the masts and yards I was allowed to take a chip of paint from the mast and worked to match the colors. I think I came very close.

    I put a sealer on the hull. I'm going to copper the hull so I need a non porous surface to apply it to.

    Absolutely the San Felipe took me 11 years of on and off building. But it would will be interesting to see just how much actual time do I spend just building.

    I'm going to be painting the small repeating patterns on the Golden Hind. Any suggestions on a method to keep sharp and crisp lines of color without bleed? I'll be working with acrylics by hand.

    Started on the bulk heads and positioning the decks.

    Starting Cutty Sark , this will be the first build I keep track of all hours spent on the bench. People always ask me "How long did it take you to build?" Well now I will know.

    Thank you There are no kits for the ship and living in San Diego for over 50 years I just had to have here.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
