Off and running with the schooner rigged pond yacht

The horseshoe shaped pieces are belaying pin rails. (the nails shown would be the belaying pins) They were positioned around the masts like the one shown in your last picture. They were used to anchor numerous sail handling lines. Sail halyards, Gaff halyard, topping lifts, etc. -

I have had the same fantastic customer service on my thickness sander. (I have the saw also) I was getting bearing noise and some play on the drum shaft. Called and talked to Jim and he helped diagnose the problem. Replacing the bad bearing or bearings was not an easy job so I was advised to send the sander back for him for repair. At that time this thickness sander was over15 years old and heavily used a lot. However, it has been so valuable in being able to create my own wood sizes for scratch building that I would have bought another if that's what it took. Within a very short time after it was sent, I was contacted and told that the repair was finished and the cost would only be the price of the return postage! I got it back and it runs just like new. Painted waterline too thick

Hey Dave, Your Lady Nelson is looking very good. You may experiment with a light touching of the waterline edge with very fine, good quality sand paper to see if that removes the sharp edge that you see. As others have stated, it has to be a very careful touch to not alter anything but the sharp point. I have the same condition on a larger model with the sprayed on waterline stripe. All I can hope for on mine is to reduce the sharp edge to a duller thick edge. On custom auto paint jobs we would sand the edges as fine as possible and put multiple clear coats on for a smooth finish. Different times, different media, different paint.....LOL -
Michael, You are absolutely amazing! I was following your Bristol Pilot Cutter and I check in and find that your building radiators!😲 I hope your hands and fingers fully recover.
