  1. I got this normal filler a while ago and never used it but I recently found out that they have a fine filler as well. I guess that the fine one would be better suited for modelling but in any case I'll paint over it with water based acrylics. I once used a wood filler from Clou on a model and had an awful time painting it. The filler swelled up from the water inside the paint and that left behind significant creases. It also formed very fine cracks witch I was never able to fill. Both molto variants are for in- and outdoors so I guess water should not be a problem. I'll buy a tube of the fine one this weekend to try it out on a smaller model I have but I wanted to hear your experiences with it. Thanks in advance
  2. I started this build back in December 2024 and completed the 1st planking at around the 100 hour mark with the planking alone taking up ~57 hours. I'm currently sitting at around ~125 hours with about a third of the 2nd planking complete. I had to finish some other projects so there is a 7 month gap where I didn't do any work on the model but having three weeks of company holiday during Christmas I hope to complete the 2nd planking. The last picture shows the current state of the model.
  3. I remember reading somewhere that the boats where towed to keep them safe during action as they could have been damaged more easily if they were stored on deck and to safe time when they are needed because they are already in the water, but I don't know if this is true.
  4. Looks great so far but why did you start with the interior before planking?
  5. Hi there everyone! I have a few questions about the new HMS Victory from Artesania Latina What's the quality of this kit? This would be my first AL kit so I don't have any experience with them but for this price I assume that the quality will be rather high How accurate/oversimplified is this kit? It would also be my first Victory model so I haven't done much research on her yet other than buying John McKay's book. In the promotional videos I noticed that there are deck beams but not the carlings, just a smooth ceiling. It won't be a big issue adding these but if they are already missing what else is? Comparing it to photos of the real ship there are little details missing but I guess that's just because of the scale It is a great kit even if there are a few details missing but before I commit to this and invest a lot of time and money I want to know what I get out of the box. Thanks for your answers in advance
