    Hi there, I am new here and just stumbled across this forum while Googling the Meteor. What a beautiful model! It must certainly be a labour of love. I thought I would comment as I believe this may be the same ship that my great-great-grandfather took from Germany (Bremen) to New York in 1856. The only other Meteor I have been able to find is a much later build in 1896. He later made his way from New York to Ontario Canada, shortly after his wife arrived in New York. She came on the Hammonia. I hope you don't mind if I follow your updates on this model.
