    Thought I'd best introduce myself as I am spending enough time on the forum learning stuff that it would only be polite. I'm an Aussie but haven't lived there for years. Born in Melbourne, grew up in North East Victoria (Beechworth) studied and worked in Melbourne then Brazil (São Paulo) then moved to the UK (Kenilworth) when Holden engineering died and I am now in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh). Getting a little more time to myself here (kids are now at Uni) so I brought over an Amati Xebec to have fun with. I've got a very long term project going on with an Arkit Cutty Sark however it was too big to easily bring to KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) hence the Xebec. I'm enjoying the amazing models and skills on display here so G'day / Hello / As Salaam Alaikum / Olá. Later Ps. I hope I am not breaking any protocols but I'm enjoying both Model Ship World and Ships of Scale, I shall just assume no-one minds occasional post double ups unless I get advised otherwise.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
