Silver Birch for Framing ?

I have some silver birch logs I cut down last year , about 3 to 4 inch dia and was wondering if they would be suitable for making the frames for a 1/48 H M S Cumberland 1774.I,ve made some trial frames and they seem quite stable at the moment.Any advice would be greatly welcomed.
