Build the Keelson, Stern Post, Skeg, and cut out a few other peices to join the Keelson together.

This will be slow going since this is my first build and I am taking my time.  I really don't want to frustrate myself right out of the gate.

Really good start Rich, so much depends on those hull frames being square and solid; and yours appear to be really well done..

Perfect attitude!

These builds seem to take longer than first-timers realize (I know ---I'm one). Taking your time and thinking things through pays off big time. Cuts down on the mistakes, re-works, and frustration.

Good luck! Patience!

I left teh sanding a little rough on purpose.  I have seen many working skipjacks on the eastern shore and none of them look brand new,  They are beat up just right.

Thanks Gerty,

I'm going to try to get new pictures up tonight.  I will need to slow down a little as I am waiting on missing parts from Model Shipworld..

I'm still waiting on missing parts so the build will be even slower, however I may begin some of the other areas that don't depend upon the missing parts.  However, I will need to do a little more research before I feel comfortable building out of sequence since this is my first build.

Have a great day everyone,

Hi all, I'm finally back. My mother just retired and is moving to upstate New York, so I have been helping her get packed up. Here are the latest pictures, please note that I took some liberties with my build. Since all of this work will be covered up (and I made a few newbie mistakes ) I decided to practice different joints and cuts with the deck beams and carlins. I would also like to throw out an awesome job to the other Willie Bennett builders that I have been following, especially Adam, Richard and Gerty. I would have been so lost without your build logs to refer to. Maybe I'm more visual, but once I was able to see your builds, it all fell into place.

So without further adieu, here are the pictures.

Thanks Richard. They are off a little, but I plan on decking over everything so I'm leaving it alone. I really only went that far to learn new techniques since I am brand new to all of this.
