Hi all, I've been a bit inactive, modelling-wise over the last couple of years, not helped by cataracts - now sorted. I did build an East Coast Oyster Smack, Peace, a few pics of which I'll post. Some of you will remember my scratch build of Scottish Maid, I hope. It's still there, https://modelshipworld.com/topic/3255-scottish-maid-by-fraser-halls-1839-clipper-schooner-18th-scale-finished/

At present I'm working on drawings of Xarifa, a converted slaver, which, as a yacht was well known here in the 1830s. Trying to decide whether to build at 1/96th or 1/144th which I find a bit small for the ageing eyes... should be, um, interesting

what's the 'Lost in The Wash thingy?

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955.
