Tamiya 1:48 P51-D Mustang

Recommended Posts

Just a few photos of the finished project. I find Tamiya to have the best fit and no flash in their models. This took approximately 16 hours to paint and assemble. I used my own color scheme, so not historically accurate to any particular Mustang. As far as the fuselage and wings, I used a small can of Testors spray aluminum paint. And Testors light blue for the tail and olive drab for the top of the nose. I actually put the red and yellow checkered decal around the nose as an afterthought a few days after competition and viewing photos on-line. I’m glad I hadn’t thrown the decal sheet into the trash. The decals are of good quality.
