I’m a dentist by profession but I also restore British cars and thru the years I found that pinstripe vinyl tape I use when painting autos works very well in my ship building adventures. The 1/16”  1/8”  and 1/4” are great both for masking and painting water lines. If you first paint down  your water line color, then put the pinstripe vinyl tape down then paint the waterline color over it to seal it, then paint your bottom color over the whole thing when you peal off the pinstripe tape (1/16”or1/8” or 1/4”)  you will have a crisp waterline in the dimensions you need for scale.

Been a long day at sea. While sailing I installed and painted the top rub rail with Liquitex Basic Acrylic FLUID—Neutral Gray and finished painting interior decor with Liquitex Basic Acrylic FLUID Alizarin Crimson.

After a long day and calm seas and fun work it’s time to drop the anchor and turn in for the night.
As Always. Best Rick
