I didn't do a build log for my Beagle, but in hindsight, I wish I had.  When I was starting the kit, I read other logs and thought I had nothing worthwhile to add. Other logs were taking the build far more seriously than I was, and showing much more professionalism about the whole process.

However, the more I built, the more I realised that a log documenting all the problems and errors with the kit would have been useful, first, as a means of discussing my frustrations as I built, and second, as a useful reference for others following in my footsteps.

I don't want to contaminate your log here with pictures of my work, but there's a picture of my finished Beagle on my Intro post, and a tirade about all the problems with the Occre Beagle set at the start of my Indefatigable build log.

I would say that if you ever feel you are losing your mind with the build- as an example, if you find that the paper instructions say one thing, the video instructions contradict them, and the picture on the box provides a third possibility for confusion- well, it's not you, it's the shoddy way the kit has been produced.

If it wasn't for the experience here on MSW, I don't think I would have finished mine.

And yes, they suggest that you lash 14 ropes to 6 belaying pins near one of the masts which are impossible to reach.

I'd be more than happy to offer suggestions in the future if you need them (add more belaying pins to that pin rail by the mast!), but  by the superb quality of your work so far, I don't think you'll be needing any help from me.  Already, I can see that your hull planking is leagues ahead of mine; although, like me, you've ignored Occre's idea to slap on planks anyhow and then fill in the gaps with assorted offcuts.
