Update 09:32 hours in preparation for launch the crew was working on the conning tower compass. Observing that a drop of spilled acrylic white paint dried on the stainless steel work surface area perfectly round and lifted easily with a #18 scalpel blade the crew is experimenting with gold black and crimson Liquitex Basic Acrylic Fluid paint. 

Has any crew member had success with this method of compass bezel fabrication. 
I have my fingers crossed hoping it works.

Update 12:27 hours

After an  by a British Spitfire our enigma antenna was severely damaged and it temporarily forced launch postponement. The crew is on repair duty. Lacking any spare copper wire we were forced to use fine stainless steel needle threading wire to complete the connection. After the repair the spliced area was recoated and turned out fine. 
Being the Admiral supervising the build of  our sub as I stated before the antenna fabrication has been the biggest pain in the ***. Rigging is far easier and less traumatic to my mental stability.
