omarcs Posted January 15, 2014 #1 Posted January 15, 2014 The Cutty Sark has spare yards and spars stored on deck and along side the boats, What color would these be? Were they pre-painted or left unpainted. I am guessing the spares might have been painted. But there is also an 8 sided hermaphrodite spar. I am assuming this is 8 sided so it could be turned to the needed diameter and might not be painted. The big spares on deck are chained down and the spares on the boat skids are lashed. Are the lashing ropes hemp colored? Are the lashings for the gig and jolly boat hemp colored rope? Omar Cutty Sark Scientific kit 1:140ish
