Gunboat Philadelphia - Model Shipways 1/24 Scale

Just finished the Gunboat Philadelphia, my third kit since starting this hobby. Very enjoyable build, with a lot of historical resonance as the actual ship was built about 30 miles from my home. Looking forward to seeing the Philadelphia in the Smithsonian next month!

Next up, considering a scratch build if I can figure out how to do it. 😬

Lovely job on this historic American gunboat model. Congrats on its completion, well done!

I think that's very good work. Large scale kits like this are very demanding in my experience - there's nowhere to hide!

It led me to some reading about the Battle of Lake Champlain which was previously unknown to me so thanks for that interesting diversion too.

What a nice model.  The finish looks great.  Onward to a two mast model?

Thank you all for your kind comments! Taking a short break for now to focus on some non-shipbuilding projects.

Beautiful work Melissa T.  I was fortunate enough to see the Philadelphia at the Smithsonian.  IIRC she still had a canon ball embedded in her bow.

Yep, I visited her last summer shortly after finishing this boat.
