Well its been a bit hard going, as I should have done the fire buckets earlier, anyone having a go at this should think on this.
Now having enuff KG etched crests(thanks to Daniel)I started thinking on how to place them with the shroud ropes done.

I added a strip of plastic from the tops left over part, stuck this behind to the top of the plastic rear bulkhead of the poop deck.

Then used plastic glue to hold buckets, later will add CA to the handles.

Later when all settled will paint handles and surrounding area black.

Next its on to the upper shroud ropes.
Used .63mm for the lower and for the upper will use .30mm black.

For both shrouds I will use .08mm for the ratlines.

    Thank you Daniel.

Tis to the fire buckets using dafis etched KG parts.

First how NOT to remove fire buckets from spru.

Note bad cuts to the rear of the buckets.
Use a proper cutting tool and leave a little to file to shape.
The KG etched parts were formed with round pliers.

    Should look like this.

Twenty one are needed for the quarter deck, but a few extra will help later for the crew to carry maybe.

The buckets come in black plastic, but to make a difference I painted them leather(as new).
They were tarred inside and later outside.
    'My choice'!!!!.

Well its to the tops I be going.
Removed the DE etched parts from Dafis  fret and found some of the deadeyes loose.

So after making sure all was fixed down ship shape I then filed the burrs off both ends of the etched parts.
Drilled out the holes in the tops so the etched futtock shrouds would push fit through the holes.

    Left loose till later.

Then its six aside for the Fore and Main tops.

    four aside for the Mizzen.

Now I know why I did not complete the ratlines yet, is most fiddly at this point to secure ropes etc to the belaying pins.

With that in mind and having Dafis etched motives for the fire buckets, its to that I am next working on.

    .

    More soon shipmates.

Thanks guy's,' yep', on the mend.

Well with the lower shrouds done its to the tops we are.

Using Dafis etched parts and Heller deadeye's.
I have glued the deadeyes to the etched frames, no need to worry about size as there all the same,'phew'.

Note the hooks below, these are for the futtock shrouds, will attach ropes to these before hooking to the main frame of theDEs.

One other thing you may need to file the Heller tops to fit etched parts, Dafi does suggest gluing these in in his hints and tips.
    Very good advise.

Sorry for the delay in posting pictures, had a spot of time in hospital.

So its back to the Victory again.

With a picture of the mouse and eye for the main stays.

Was very small to make, but I think it came out all right.

Next its the sails in progress with 8 more to make.

Still to add the tassle's and blocks.

More to come soon me thinks.

Cheers for that Daniel, well can remove ok and will add your version.

Well its Organised Chaos at the moment with one side of the stay ropes done.

For the blocks I am using Syren 3mm and 2mm for the lesser ropes, with Dafis eyelets already positioned.
    The main top.

    Running down to the channel.

Some of the chaos on the deck.

The shrouds on the top masts are run through the top and left loose at the moment.

The tuther side is next with the blocks made up, so should be faster.

Thanks very much Lawrence, much better now thanks  .

Well have been busy of late with all the top ropes strung.

Left loose till main stay ropes have passed over mast/shroud.

    Then tightened up.

With the main stay ropes in place.

One point is the main stay ropes to the bowsprit.
As all know they pass through the bowsprit and then attach to block and tackle.
For those doing this build, its advisable to add the blocks near the knights head before adding the netting and booms.
This will be a lot easier.
The blocks I used for this were of Syren manufacture and can move if ness.

Next its the stay ropes from masts to channels etc.

This is the sequence I am following for this static build.
Having good plans of the rigging helps, so far its standing rigging I am working on.

Thanks guys for all your imput and likes.

    All the best Frank.

Cheers Keith mate, A happy New year to you and your family.
Still on the crest and crown for this ship.
Using Daniels etched parts for the crown and wording.

First filled in the Heller Plastic part of the crown using Plastic putty, great stuff this and lasts and lasts.

Used round head pliers for the crown top.

Once crown fixed to crest started painting.

Still to finish lions on the crest, plus the lettering.

    More soon.

Thanks folks for all your inspiration and advice, it all helps and appreciated

Next its some of the boats I will be using on this build.
These are models that will need a lot of work.

Also working on the entrance ports, these are Dafi's resin one's.
Lovely detail they are, painted with life color base and brass .

Next an overall picture of the middle deck so far.

Test fitting the masts at each stage.

    More soon.

Got carried away from my last post and missed showing some pictures.

Made up the soup tray's that hang around the stove, plus a kettle(very Important)

The Brody Stove near finished, you can see the fire in the grates here, plus the kettle hanging above the fire grate.

from the stern of the stove is were the hot water from the two water tanks above were vented.

Next shows the stove and pantry as it should look.

Also at this time I took a look at the side galleys, added the floor and seats of rest.

    More soon.

Right the crunch time has come,  thanks to Daniel for sending me some pictures of this Body stove that made sense.

I took the plunge and had a go.

First using plastic card I made a basic shape.
Then added varies Brass/plastic fittings to this structure.

The main structure was Balsa and plastic, but for strength brass was needed at this scale.

Was quite pleased with the overall shape, but had to delve in my spare's  box's for items attaining to this build.
So a base was made and scribed/painted.

Test fit with other parts of the ship.

Then it was down to a spot of paint to bring all to life.
First a primer from a can.

Last was a figure to show all was well.

Next will be all the detail to bring it to a conclusion.

Some more progress with the gallery.

    Next its the Brody Stove.
This is what it looks like on the real thing.

Will have a balsa centre block.
    Like so.

Right well checking the number of ladders needed and found I was a few short, Heller had sent me some replacements  but still not enuff.

So it was to wood I turned again.

Used Heller ladder as a template.

    The finished article's

Used life color paints for this job, three in all.

Next came the buildings for this deck, the gallery, brody stove, officers quarters and cover for the tiller, that could be lifted off in an emergency to add another tiller arm.
    First though its the gallery.
I used some etch from my model railroad day's, when I built loco's etc.
Plastic and brass for the main structure and wood for the top of the bench.
Have books that show the gallery and this made it a lot easier.

At the top of the picture is the start of the officers quarter's, below the start of the gallery.

Framed the outside with thin plastic strips(evergreen).
Made some pots, bottles etc for the top bench and lockers.

The officer figure is scratch built from one of the USS Constitution people, with a new hat and sword/belt.

    More soon methinks.

    Thank E kindly dragzz

Some more progress with the lower deck buttoned up.

One other thing I have been playing around with is the port hatch ropes.

Instead of drilling lots of holes, I hope to attach with plastic to the hull.
    Experimenting.

    foxy

Some more pictures of the middle deck now.
Added the deck and yes the planking is wrong but did it the same time as the lower deck, Next deck will have the right space's.
Added deck hatch's steps to lower deck and capstans, main and jeer.

Also at this time the stern rear windows, this so all will sit right.
Still to finish the crown, leaving it till later so as no damage comes to it.

    Thanks David and Keith.

Yes you right David, its much easier when you have the part to copy, as long as the part you are copying is correct .
So far it has been so.

Yep Keith this is turning out very Interesting, in the nick of time to, was starting on the spars etc as a variation to the build.

Well been busy with more to this ship.
Working on the forecastle, opened up the doors and one for'd hatch.

First coat sprayed with Admil French blue paint.
Using dafi's etch for the gun hatchs, made two more for the bow( sickbay) that I have opened.

    .
Again working on the same principle with double sided tape to hold the gun hatch's iplace and number them.

Added eye bolts and hinge's from Dafi's etch set for this ship.

Also at this time working on the boats, the larger barge is not with the kit, so have used the 1/96 USS Constitution but have to extend the hull. did this again copying what others have done to get the right length.

    Once dry will sand down.

Used this plastic putty to fill any gaps.

    More soon methinks.

Right added most of the centre items and guns on the lower deck.

    Bow end.

Then test fitted the middle deck to line up with the lower deck.

This with a bit of weight to make sure all seated well.

Also lined up loose the next deck gratings and capstans, plus the masts,(very Important).

Loose fitted the poop deck to check fit.

Also added the siren messenger and bowser ropes.

Very pleased with it so far.

That is very timely, I have for the bowsprit kept the plastic bottom half and used brass for the main spars here.
No picture as I have already sprayed them.
As for the main upper and royals, that is something I will be changing from plastic to wood, was going for brass, but now I have my lathe it will be a lot easier in wood.
Will be doing the upper spars in wood.

Thanks again for the timely words, will strip this part down and put wood/brass for this section.
Brass at top and plastic bottom, will strip out the plastic bottom half and substitute for wood.
Ordered some from Cornwall Model Boats, just up the road from me.

    Hi Keith.

Not sure yet, if I do it will be on the middle deck, the lower gun ports will be closed after lots of debating on this part of the build.

Having pictures of the progress and enjoying all of the aspects so far, also to stop any damage as the bulge at this point of the ship makes it easy to course a mishap.
The base was next to sit the ship safely.
A friend of mine who makes things out of wood( bowls etc) has come up with a very nice piece of wood,''at a very good price too'.

The supports are from the kit and just sprayed.

Next I worked on the bow end with manger and messenger posts in place, will be using Syren ropes for this part from the main capstan through the bits to the hawser exit point.

Also roping the guns at this stage for the 32 pdrs.

Fitted one end dafi's etch parts.
To line the ropes up I made a jig.

Out of odd plastic bits and clamped to the table to work on.
The 32 pounders ready to place on board.

Made more support posts to make up the pillers holding the next level, this simply with a vice and dremel.

Some of the other items  for the decks.
You will also note that I am using brass and plastic for the cross supports, the one's that come with the kit are more than useless with this type of build.
    More soon.

Thanks JP. yes that is very usefull and will have a go. just painted and sealed while I get on with other things handling the ship. Will come back to that later.

Lots of little items on the go.
Making the bilge pumps, used dafi's etch and some scratch items.

Note double blocks also being made,' got to keep busy you know'.

    Painted main pumps and placed.
Found the heads were to small in scale ,so rebuilt them.

Next it was the channels these from Daniels experience need widening at the bow end by at least 3mm.

I added for all of them, but was put right by Daniel on this.
Here's my mistake, but put right now,'Phew'.

Next was to build the tiller.

Using evergreen plastic, Dafi's eye bolts and Syren blocks.

    They work too.
The blocks that is, but will not once fitted.

    More soon.

While working on different items as I go along, I found some very nice steering wheels from RBmodels.

Brass they are and fit the bill for my build.

Come in kit form but fit together like a glove.

Also in the pursuit of realism moved to the upper works which have brass inserts, these were not square, so some plastic filler was ness.

After removing struts and sanding/replacing struts the shape was better after some coats of paint .

At the same time started on the partitions that I felt the detail was not enuff.
Added Dafi's etch window frames at this time.

    Paint used to complete these.

Sorry about the clutter in the last picture.
    More soon me thinks.

Next it was the bumble bee effect, or chequered pattern .for this I used Life color paints for the dark and Admil paints for the yellow.

Then a coat of matt varnish to seal.

Working on the lower deck I made some false boxes for the orlop steps.

    Added steps later.

Some other pictures of other parts on the go.

Making the block and tackle for the guns later on, this using the 2mm Syren blocks single and double, they work too .

First glue one side. Add dafis hooks.

Next its the double blocks with longer tails.
