My Dad built a fair number of ship models during his lifetime. I'm hoping to get close to the quality of his builds. I'm planning on starting with some simple builds. Both plastic and wooden models. Stash: Revell 1:196 Constitution, Revell 24 inch Cutty Sark, MS Phantom, MS Harriet Lane, Revell 1:96 Constitution, BJ Constitution 70's version that I hope to upgrade. Mamoli USS Constitution cross section. ( Needless to say this may take a while. :-) )

  1. Would love to see some pics of you 70's BJ connie if possible.

I just got lucky and Got a 70's kit from a yard sale in WA for 10$. The hull is there clearly has been sanded some.lots of  wood, rigging and a box of metal  parts. deadeye's,blocks and stuff all in sealed packages. It was all in a uhaul box and belonged to his father that passed way.Anyway There is only sheet of plans and no instructions. So any pics would be helpful and awsome to see.It seems this is a little smaller in scale the the new one

Sorry, I missed that post until now.  I haven't tried to build it yet but I have more than one sheet. I also got the new plans from Blue Jacket with the intent on trying to update the old it. Are you just wanting to see what my kit came with?

I managed to get a Bicentennial edition instructions by Laurence Arnot no prints. It also had  broken scribed deck pieces  parts and wood from ebay from an abandoned build.According to BJ it had 3 sheets and an instruction booklet. Also got a cd from the navel museum all the real prints. So thats really cool. I think I can deal with it now but I wont be starting on it any time soon . Have to get to and finish the Independence 1st.Then I am just gonna go for it there is great build logs here an elsewhere.Hope to see yours here as well.

      Thanks for the response
