Paul (Sir), Awesome chain links! Paul, when you did the planking of the bow, did you find the planks did not want to sit flat on the bulkhead number 3 (at the curve) area? If so how do you correct this so the planks are not stepping down to the keel area. Thank You, Very respectfully, Rich

Paul (Sir), Awesome 24 pound cannons and robes. I am slowing working the planking and looking ahead towards cutting out the gun ports. Are the insides of these gun ports actual red color or are only certain ones red and others ??? Thank you Paul (Sir), Very respectfully, Rich

Paul (Sir), When you view the HMS Victory and all her lines on the main deck area you see them stacked up (made up) to various block and tackle; and if not careful can look very ugly. I have seen two ways of rigging a mast ship. One method is the one you mentioned inside and work your way out. I have also seen that the lines are all made to their deck block and tackle; then ran upwards to the positions on the mast; these lines are made up prior to deadeyes, ratlines and masts; so you have clear access to the main deck area. I am going to try this method and see how it goes. I am no expert as this is only my second ship. USS CONSTITUTION was my first. Do you have a website or information on the various paint colors for HMS VICTORY? Thank You, Very respectfully, Rich

Paul (Sir), Are you going to rig your lines and leave them long before you start the deadeyes and mast work? Thanks again for all the pictures and advice. Rich

That is awesome, I am just starting the HMS Victory Constructo Kit. Do you have any stern pictures of the planking. I can only hope my planking comes close to yours. That is so good. Rich

Michael, I am also working on my first sailing ship build. I used Beeswax and found it helps to stiffen the lines and make them easier to work with. You can get Beeswax at a store that sells sewing supplies. Have fun. Rich

Sequence of Rigging and Attaching Sails to Yardarms
fxitgood replied to fxitgood's topic in Masting, rigging and sails
When rigging a 3 mast sailing ship is it better / easier to attach all the lines to the deck and leave them long to attach to sails and yardarms later? -
Request images / pictures discussions on the different methods of attaching / bending cloth sails to wooden yardarms. I am working on the USS CONSITUTION Construto Wooden Model Kit . My first sailing ship. Sure lots of rigging. LOL. Thank you, Very respectfully, Rich
