Keith Black's post in Length of boomkins on Pegasus? was marked as the answer
Though a specific length isn't given in the below links, historically the length was six to eight feet on ships of that time period. You should be able to get a pretty good guesstimate from the images.

Keith Black's post in Warped Dowel for Small Masts was marked as the answer
Allen, I doubt anything you try will make it worse. keep at it till it either straightens or you give up. Worse case scenario is you have to purchase another piece of dowel.

When you have a question about your build, always check the other like build logs. That Syren rope he used looks spot on for size.

Press forward with one eye closed and the other slightly squinted. Life's too short for extra work.

Keith Black's post in Does anyone have a drawing of a Link Belt Chain for 1920 fishing schooner was marked as the answer
i think it looks pretty dang close. IMHO blackening the chain would make it appear smaller and fit in with the gears.

Keith Black's post in Rigging Terminology and Purpose was marked as the answer
Maximum pull power downward from overhead is a man's body weight. Pulling a line through a block anchored at deck level is going to allow more pulling power because a man is pulling with his back and legs. I've posted a photo of the Tennessee (some 70 yeas later than the Diana) mizzen showing blocks anchored around the mast.

Keith Black's post in Grand Banks Dory Oar Specifications, 1851-1900 was marked as the answer
The oar looks great and if it looks a little dark it's due to weathering.
