    Hello Gents! ramping up my tool selection... eagerly awaiting the arrival of a brand spanking new Byrnes Table Saw. Any good material/website on how to make the best of the equipment, including initial setup? Now pondering if and when I get the thickness sander... regards, Jorge

    Here to go... the bigger slab is Maple, the smaller to the left is Rose Oak, and the right is Dark Oak... can’t complain for $20 bucks, planed. what use do you guys recommend, if any?

    Found some wood slabs at what I think is a great price, in order to practice milling. The wood slabs are Maple, Oak (dark) and, what we call in Puerto Rico, Rose Oak. The colors on all 3 are beautiful... will post pics later on. I plan on using it for the Triton cross section build. Any feedback on the wood types and application? Thanks! jorge

    Nothing whatsoever. Just lubricated everything, tightened all screws a tad, and that is it. maybe a Sherline in the future...

    Hello All! Couple of pics to show my new setup... had an old Dremel drill press, and found in Amazon a simple, interesting compound sliding table. First tryout was pretty much good. Unit drilled right smack in the middle after the proper table adjustments were made. Can’t beat this with a $60 dollar setup!     Hello Gents! What size are the plans supposed to be printed on? can they be printed on 8.5 x 11"? or do they have to go on 11 x 17"? I have a very good laser printer at the office, and was looking forward to use it on the cross section plans. Thanks! Jorge

    Thanks, Jim! Quite a learning curve from the world I com, but I chose it due to the fact that since the hull has 3 layers, I thought it would be more forgiving and solid for a first time build... All was fun, until the final planking layer!

    Hello All! Long time lurker, finally a member and building my first wooden boat model. I have been a 1/35 military modeler for the past 43 years, and finally decided to make the jump to something that had really captivated me for so many years, the wooden ship miniature. As my first wooden ship kit, I have selected the Panart Lancia Armata; hull has been completed, and currently in the interior rib/structure process. As soon as I have some good pics and time to upload, will share with you for your critique. Pice below are merely phone pics. I have purchased already my second kit, a Model Shipways Pinnace designed by Chuck Passaro... it seems a much mode delicate build, so it will be a nice challenge as well.
