Sorry Art; no build log from me.  I spent my entire career documenting and writing reports and I do not intend to continue.  This is supposed to be 'fun', not more 'work'!

Osmosis:  Since I am following your build, I didn't see the need for two build logs on the same topic.  (and since this is my first build, I guess I'm a bit too shy to post my build next to yours!)  

Art:  it would be great to have a copy of your ladder drawings as well as the capstan footpad placement drawings (circles) although I seem to have managed to get one knocked up with a compass and protractor (old-school!)

Very nice indeed!   Keep it going!!  I am still behind you in the build.  Just making the clutter for the cargo deck and then the ladders. . .  (they look like a real pain to make!)

Thanks for the info on the rings.   Keep up the good work!   You have to keep going since I am a bit behind you and I want to benefit from your experiences as I progress!   

I am just about to start on the ladders. . . . . 

Are the rings that you are using to anchor the cannons (the ones that you just put in) the ones that came with the kit or have you used some smaller ‘after-market’ rings?

Do you have the lower deck gun ports cut out?  If so, could you please post some pictures?

I went with your grating/ladder change.  Have yet to build the ladder!

I intend to do the interior planking on the inside of the mid-deck, like you have done, but - HOW do you intend to mount the cannons on this deck?  I want to have them with the correct tackle etc. (with neatly coiled ropes, etc.) but am in a quandary about just how to do it.  If I install the top deck, etc. just how are the cannons to be installed?  On the other hand, if I install them before completing the second hull planking, I'll have to deal with cannon barrels protruding through the hull while I try to sand and smooth. . . . . 

HELP!!

Not having a Dremel lathe (and not reading the instructions) the deck supports are simply the dowels, not even thinned in the middle.  Sorry.

I started the model and then found your 'build'.  Boy, you have a LOT to answer for!  I was simply going to make it per the instructions, but then - NO; you have to suggest al kinds of modifications!

I love it!   

First mod was installing some tie-down' rings into the cargo deck.  Made from a cheap necklace. . .
