Does anyone know where I can find 12mm, brass, 2 ball, rail stanchions with holes? I have 13, but need 71 more for the Endurance I'm building. I have looked on Ebay and other model ship companies, no luck. Thanks, Bobcat

These are photos of the rig I made to build the stairs for the Endurance I am currently building; As my kit's stairs were brass strips, I decided to make them out of wood. I took a piece of 1/2" balsa wood as the base. I then secured Saran wrap to it so the pieces later glued to it wouldn't stick. Then I slotted a piece of hardwood at a 45-degree angle for each tread (second photo). The third photo shows the stairs with stringers and treads glued in place (I used 5-minute epoxy).

Thanks Keith; I was kind of figuring that. Now I need to try to research the # and configuration for the railings on the deck and try to come up with a better way to make and secure the stantions. Of all the photos I've seen, they are a twin rope type.

Hello everyone:
I, too, am building the Endurance and have a question reguarding the foremast deadeye attachment. The plans and picture show the deadeyes mounted to the deck rail, whereas the other deadeyes are mounted in the traditional fashion. Is this per the kit or by design? I can not find any pictures of the real ship to verify this either way. Any thoughts? Bobcat

Hello to all:
Being that the Swift 1805 is my first "ship" model; I would like the opinions of the the forum. Prior to the Swift, I used to build RC planes. I want to increase the difficulty in my next model after I build a model engine display case. What are the better quality ship kits available? I found the manufacturer's instructions on this ship to be slightly vague at times. I do like a challenge, but am not ready yet for ships like the Constellation, constitution, Morgan or the Norwegian Lion. Thanks, Bobcat

Hello ship builders. At this point of the Endurance build, I am close to the rigging portion and was wondering if anyone has researched the authenticity of the kits rigging plans. I try to be a stickler for details. Thanks, Bobcat
