You do a marvelous job on these small scale ships!
-
Great job on this new kit Chuck! It looks like a fine kit for those of us who do better with woodworking and not so much with the rigging as there is a minimum amount of it on a boat like this. By the way, it really shows to advantage your rope for the rigging.
-
It's a shame that such a magnificent ship had such a short a service life and met such a tragic end.
-
It's hard to imagine risking these ships that were like floating treasure troves of wood sculptures by taking them into actual combat. After a battle I wonder how much longer they would be laid up for repairing all the damage to just the sculptures alone?
-
I notice that there is no prominent carved figurehead on this ship. Wasn't that the norm, or was this just a more common version? (As I thought the Vikings were a very superstitious lot who thought they needed some kind of protection from evil spirits.)
-
Interesting take on the window glass.
-
That's quite an impressive horse figurehead you've got there! Seems that you have some talent for sculpting in wood.
-
Nicely done, good clean lines throughout.
-
Your detail work looks very well done. What was the scale on your model? The lashing on the ships boats looks very intricate.
-
Nicely done there, I like the fact also that you show some of the gun ports in the closed position
-
That's quite a rakish look to this vessel, looks like she was built to be fast. Is it some type of fishing vessel? The sail arrangement is kind of unusual too. Curious as to what those two horizontal wood bars on the sides are for. I also noticed the split wood logs on the floor. Hope they aren't for making a campfire on board!
Looks to be well deserving of the gold.

Leaving the key on a hook by the padlock kind of defeats it's purpose though.
-
That looks like one of my clamps. I wondered where I put it!
-
It looks like he needs a better saw, those are pretty rough cuts there. I could use one of those tools to fight the rat for the doughnut though!
-
Is that a blue water rat down there? I think he's got his eye on my doughnut!
-
That's quite a mean looking hand brace there.
-
The sign reads:
THINK CARELESS MEN NEVER ARE EFFICIENT
(They are usually short a few fingers also!)
-
I think the guy could use a better saw, it's making some pretty rough cuts. I've still got my eye on that doughnut. There's plenty of tools here to fight the rat for it.
-
I like those labels on the cans.
-
That looks like one of my clamps, I wondered where it went.
-
Is that a blue water rat below? He's probably eyeing my doughnut!
-
What flavor is that doughnut? I might eat it if the builder doesn't come back soon.
-
Really like the stand. Is that the name of the boat or the type?
-
I love the unusual vessels that you model.

Quite the realistic windows.
