  1. I found another photo of the stern decor before installation on the ship.
  2. Thank you. In general, this is my first such complex model with a lot of decor.
  3. I came up with the decor on the stern myself, because I didn’t understand what was really there.
  4. At first I wanted to carve it in its entirety, but it seemed to me difficult and I made it in two parts. Front and back. Then glued.
  5. The railing for the stairs was made of copper wire. He flattened it with a hammer, then bent the details of the stairs out of it. Then inked and painted with gold paint. Then I wiped off the gold paint in some places with a rag.
  6. It is already clear what kind of ship will turn out in the end
  7. I made the eagle in three parts. I glued the body separately, and then adjusted both wings.
  8. All decor is made and boxwood. I made the body out of pear. I modeled the decor in 3Dmax, then cut it on a cnc machine. With my hands, I modified a little after the cnc machine. When the decor was ready, I covered it with tung oil. The oil hides small problems in the decor. After 2 weeks, I covered it with bituminous varnish. I diluted the bituminous varnish very strongly with a solvent, then applied it to the decor with a brush. Almost immediately rubbed the decor on top with another brush. The decor turned out to be dark in the recesses, and light on the protruding parts.
  9. I still have all the drawings for this model. This, if anyone needs it. Frames are drawn in Сorel.
  10. It's time for decor. Almost every element was redrawn and redone several times. It looks good on the computer, but when I cut it out of wood, I didn’t like it at all.
  11. Yes, 20 years ago I made the first model. Since then, I spend all my free time only on ships.
