Had some more time to work on the Beagle. Railing work, rudder etc. Appreciate honest criticism. Several great tips from those on here helped me make it this far!

Haven't started the ship boats yet. Do they plank with the same ones used for the Beagle?

Thanks for the reply. without crimping the hinge it was very loose. The wire was 1/2 the diameter of the hinge. Didn't think of something as simple as crimping it. Thanks for the info!!!

I had asked you a question somewhere on here. Still learning how this site works. It was, the wire used for the rudder hinges seems very small. Would it work to make a better fittings one out of wood? Thanks in advance!

Beautiful. Your images of your build have helped a LOT more than the directions that came with it!

I have a question. I have started attaching the rudder. The brass wire is a poor fit. Do you think making them out of wood with a better fit would work?

Appreciate your comments. Glad you encouraged me to start the build log. Have been painting last few days. Based on another gentleman's help here. Can pre drill and glue the few I found. Like rudder I guess?

Not sure what requires the nails yet. But the kit has a whole lot of them... I guess a lot of them were to be used for planking? I used Small removable clamps... worked great

Was thinking...can you pre drill so nail slides in with glue?

Yes. And a couple other build video series. Between them all I might pull this off! I'm trying to figure out how I am going to place these tiny nails I see coming up. Thanks for the reply!

Started my build in November 2023. Found this website and it has been a great help from many of your builds. And thanks for those that replied. Looking forward to this build more than ever. Will update my progress. Just starting to paint. Most of the build going forward looks quite intimidating! Sure will need help. My only comment on this model so far is the directions & plans are a real challenge.
