  1. Hi Daniel,

I know exactly the issue that you are asking about. I had the same problem but resolved it by following the advice of Robert29. If you use the search function to go to his Victory build log, and read posts #277 - #279 you'll find the solution you seek.

Not sure if you have a build log for your own, but posting your progress is a great way to get help and advice when the need arises.

    Good luck with your model!

    Graham

  2. Hi Nick, Just found this photograph series while looking on Pinterest. What a build!!! Wish I had half of your skills. I'm currently building a Caldercraft Victory and because of my not so good technical English I have some problems with the manual provided. Looking to your great build photographs I already found some of the answers to my questions. Although I still have lots of issues, one of them being the mounting of the deadeye strops on the channels. I tried several positions but, for me anyway, they don't seem to fit in the tiny slots in front of the channel. And there are two small lips facing one side, I really can't figure out why they are there. Even if I should cut them away the brass strops look to wide to fit the slots. I know now that it was not my best idea ever, but this build is my very first of a sailing ship model. Only build an Amati Bismarck first to start this hobby, and that was a peace of cake comparing to the HMS Victory... Now I will look to your photographs until I worn them out... 😉 Daniel
