  1. No real problems. Just that some of the printed instructions do not exactly match the photos. If you very carefully read the printed instructions, it will make sense. Also check out the build log located on this site.
  2. Thanks. I figured it out. There are discrepancies between the instructions and pics. But it is proving to be a great learning experience.
  3. On the kit I recently purchased, frame 4a sits .25" higher than frame 4, and higher than frame 5, which makes no sense. Is this an error in the kit? I can certainly trim it, but just want to be sure I'm not missing something.
  4. In the kit I recently received, frame 4A site .25" higher than frame 4, and a little higher than frame 5. Error in the kit, correct?
  5. Local Hobby Lobby is poorly stocked. Bud Nosen Models has exactly what I need; trying to contact them since there is no on-line ordering that I can see.
  6. Where can one purchase 1mm x 5mm basswood strips? The strips that came with my kit are poor quality and I want to replace. Length is 24". Thanks.
  7. After reading all of this great information, I am now inclined to not bother with treenails on the HMS Bounty kit I'm currently building.
  8. Were treenails made from the same type wood as the planks? If so, after sawing and planing smooth, wouldn't they almost disappear? I ask because I see models both with and without the treenails evident.
